Lesley, it can be set to the off position so that it will not do that, if
you wish. Go to the Recording Settings in the Media Menu. (Just press "O"
to change to "Off", or read the HELP if you're stuck.)

Successful!!! User Guide is back. I realized the button (record?) stole it
and hide it in the MY MEMO.
Sorry, that I was delaying so long. I thought your post was old but I did
not delete it because I wanted to read it again when I am mood. I found out
it was not old. I am happy that I did read it from yours. It helped me a big
help.
So I tried to read the User Manual with Index for "button" because I need to
know more about the button but it does not have "button" in the Index.
So I read "Getting.....) but I think HW forgets to add it about the button.
I guess it is called "record button" as you wrote on your post. It seems to
me that it steals any files as I press on it.

Now I understand why. In KeySoft 7.0, the Record button, the button that is
located just to the left of the joystick, is activated. I believe that you
have to delete My Memos folder first.
1. Hold down dots 1-2-3 and press C3+C4. Keep holding down dots 1-2-3 until
PK chimes.
2. Go to File Manager and navigate to Flash Disk/My Memos. Delete the
folder.
3. Press C3+C4 to reset your unit. Then after you do this and after the PK
chimes, press C1+C4 to power down the unit.
3. Press C1+C4 again to start your PK. This might fix the problem.
There is a way to deactivate the Record buton (I'm not sure whether this has
been documented).

My assistant of Minnesota State Services for the Blind, in St. Paul,
Minnesota USA did install KS7 into my PK last Feb. No successful. He had
hard time to contact the tech. support. Later he sent my PK to HW to fix or
restore. Finally, he gave it back to me last Saturday of April. Everything
was fine. I did read User Guide at first few days but it gone. I was
puzzled. I did press the button left side of the joystick. It changed and
lost the file of User Guide. It also said "not enough storage or memory...."
I was puzzled.
BrailleNote list advised me to deleted "KeySoft" but I can not find it. It
seems they are hide folders. I did see only one file, 07 Scientific
calculator under the Manual folder.
SO I tried to restore by re-install but it ran so short. I guess it saw the
folder and quitted the process.
I am still waiting for the assistant because my counselor was on the
vacation.
Could you image how long I patience unsuccessful with Bluetooth for 1 1/2
years. I feel like I am going to give up my main goal on the Bluetooth
technology. I really dislike the cables because cables are not good for the
mobiles.
I need your help how could I reinstall KS7.0? erased all KS from Flash and
KS drive before I reinstall it?
NOTE: I have CF card of KS7.0 about 5 files.

Hi leslie, there is a 7.0 User Guide for BrailleNote PK, which is installed
when you perform the upgrade on your device. I think the problem you may be
encountering is that we may not have updated the version on HumanWare.com,
and I'll investigate this. However, any instructions contained in that
version of the User Guide about performing an upgrade are still relevant.

Recently, I read PK User Guide but I found out it was old version, 31 Jan
2005. I can not find new version for KS 7.0 for BNPK. So I am reading on
BNBT mPower User Guide 7.0.
What happen HW did not make new version for PK?
