For me, if the unit is working fine then I LEAVE the battery alone. I have not had to recalibrate the battery on my M power and I did not mess with it really on my classic either. I may have tried it once, but only once and then never messed with it again.
To me, most of the problems come from people fooling around with something which they do not need to be messing with. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it is the way I feel about this issue.
