Hello Robert,
Thank you for explaining.
I have three questions and hope you don't mind.
1. Is a 'Private wep key" like a passowrd? By that I mean is it a set
of letters, number, or a combination of the two?
2. Is there a set number of characters in a Custom Private Wep Key?
3. Where would the same Custom Wep Key be entered on my BN?
Thanks in advance.
KC

Yes, a wep key is a way of securing your settings.
you will find it in your home portal settings list.
The easiest way I found to get there on the computer, is to go to
the internet explorer box and type in home or home portal and it
should take you to your settings.
Arrow down until you see wireless and press enter, at the bottom
you will see wep key and it will probably say something like wep
key set you want to tab over until you get to custom wep key and
type in a private key, this key will need to be the same on the
braillenote settings.
Let me know if you ñeed more help.

Hello Steph,
You need to make sure the router is wireless capable Some are,
and some are not.
As long as your router is wireless capable, you should be just
fine.
No, it is not another phone call if you can get it set up
yourself.
Once the router is connected to the pc, all you need to do with
the braillenote, is go to options, c for connectivity, w for
wireless, select scan for wireless networks, when you see your
ssid, select it, you will want to give it a name, and follow the
prompts.
One thing you will want to do, which needs to be done on the pc,
is set up a wep key, this makes your wireless settings secure so
that no one can come by and use your settings or tap in and get
information.
Once you do this on the pc, the same exact wep key will need to
be entered on the braillenote.
I hope this makes sense, and if you have furtherquestions, don't
hesitate to ask.
Robert

Subject: [Braillenote] modem
Hi all,
I am going to get dsl in about 10 days time. The modem is going
to be supplied, and I was wondering how I'm going to know if it
works with wireless or not. Do most of them work with a wireless
card? Also, is it another phone call when you connect with the
braille note, even if the pc is already online.
Steph
