Rose,

I just sent another message with a work-around that would have helped you
immensely. If you had navigated to the "to" field while in the Inbox, then
invoked the search command and typed "qwest", you would have only seen those
messages sent to a Qwest address, including the one you wanted to find
immediately.

I understand how one bad experience of this kind can put someone off the whole
thing, and also that once one is used to doing things in a certain way, it's
not comfortable to learn and use an entirely new interface, especially when one
is in a hurry.

I hope that, if you're stuck with only the BN for Email in the future, that
these suggestions will help you.

Sarah

It is me who does not like doing e-mail on the Braille note after my
experience of downloading 360 messages once. I was in a quandary to see
personal messages, with possible unknown subject lines and it took me hours
to find the particular one I wanted, from someone I did not know or what the
subject line would be, someone a co-worker was asking to write me about
something. Maybe I had an unusual circumstance but I found the whole
process, and the slowness after I sent only one message to the trash to be
annoying and I am very glad I have my computer back to cope with e-mail.

Dear Sherry,

I'm so glad you wrote this message, as I have been exclusively using the
mPower for Email for several months now, and love it. I would like to add
one thing, in light of a message I saw on the list a while back. It was
mentioned that Email is difficult to sort through on the BN, and that it is
much easier to do this with a PC. I have found an excellent, and apparently
little-known, way of sorting mail on the BN. When in the Inbox, press read
with f on a QT or space with f on a BT. This causes the BN to inquire which
detail you want to search. I usually choose to search for subject by
pressing s. Then I type part of the subject I want, for instance
"BrailleNote", and all my BrailleNote messages appear, without any other
messages. Once all the BrailleNote messages have been dealt with, I can
then search for the word "blind" in order to sort out the messages from any
list I'm on whose subject contains the word "blind". I have found this
method to be wonderful when it comes to dealing with a large amount of mail,
and I'm talking about three or four hundred messages per day. I hope this
information proves helpful, and I will be interested in finding out if the
poster of the original message, I believe it was Rose Combs, can use these
steps to more easily and efficiently handle large amounts of mail on her BN.

HTH

Sarah

As I've often said, I normally use a PC at home and work. Well, since I'm
getting ready to go on my trip, I finally got around to getting into the
connectivity options, setting things up and test driving the mPower and
email, and the new ethernet card I got. oh my goodness! It was wonderful.
Setting up the connection was very easy. And downloading email ... sigh of
rapture. It was so fast and smooth and no glitches at all! what an
incredible improvement in speed and efficiency.

just wanted to gush and say the mPower with the ethernet card, makes it very
easy to do email on the BN unit now, and I'm confident I won't be grumbling
and swearing at hour long email downloads, while on my trip! oh yes, and
emptying the trash was so fast as well. I can really tell the faster
processor and more memory. it's really great!

Sherry
