Terry, The infrared port is all the way to the right on the back panel of theBN. The telephone jack is immediately to the left of the infrared port. The little square you mentioned being between the AC adapter jack and the CF card slot is where the SD card slot and client USB port are. If you place your finger on the right-hand back corner of the BN and slide it to the left, the first thing you will encounter is the infrared port. As Rhonda mentioned, it is covered by a smooth plastic window. This is pretty tiny, about the size of a fingertip.
