Stephanie,
Now I get the problem. Say no to the password or whatever prompt. Extract
the second zip file onto the main zip file and copy the .exe file onto the
directory that I'e mentioned. Then run that file. At that point, you should
tell JAWS to use NO BRAILLE DISPLAYS BEFORE YOU PROCEED! Shut down JAWS and
restart it. NOW, CHANGE THE SETTING SO THAT THE BRAILLENOTE WILL BE THE
BRAILLE DISPLAY. Shut down JAWS. Connect the serial cable or Blueototh
connection and start braille terminal from main menu. Restart JAWS. It
should work now on.
P.S. You should say no display before you shut down JAWS for the first time.
After restarting it, run the exe file. Select BraileNote as the braille
display and restart JAWS. Then it should work.

Subject: [Braillenote] keyboard emulator driving my insane

Hi all,
Sorry for writing about this again, but I'd not had any response to
my questions on this. I suspect that is because it has already been
discussed previously, but I have no idea how to search the arcieves
without reading every message, and I don't have time to do that.
Anyway, I'll give as much detail as I can about what I'd done in
hopes it will help solve my problem, and perhaps help others who are
struggling to get the emulator to work. I installed the emulator
acording the instructions, but was slightly confused as the
file brlnote.zip mentioned wasn't in the zip file I
downloaded. Instead, it has brlnote.jlb. I even downloaded the file
someone posted on the list, but that was the same. There was another
zip file within the file, and I extracted that, and installed the
software. I then closed jaws (i'm using 7.0) and restarted it. I set
the braille display to braillenote. I closed jaws and restart it
again with my braillenote connected and then pressed space with I
(using my braillenote leyboard) twice. Nothing happened. One beep for
each press of space and I. I opened a document with word pad and
tried to type in it, but when i pressed the letter A, I received a
speech history mode message. I then tried to re-install the emulator,
and it asked if I wanted to replace the files. The pcihooks file
wouldn't replace because it said I needed a password.

Now, it still doesn't wrok. Can anyone please help me work out how to
fix this problem.
Thanks,
Steph
