Hello,
I have seen usb cd rom drives at Circuit city, Best Buy, and Comp Usa but I don't know if they work at all with the braillenote. Also, you could try as the others have said, to have Acb put the agenda or whatever you need on the website which I am sure that others in your organization would appreciate as well.
Hope this helps.
Robert

This doesn't help your current situation and I don't want to get
into
any ACB/NFB conflicts but you might want to bring up to someone
at ACB
about putting the program out ahead of time. The NFB was
resistant to
this for a very long time but as of last year started putting it
up on
the website before hand. This was requested because there are so
many
people that use technology that would like it in electronic form
plus
many people were able go through it and set the meetings they
wanted to
go to as appointments in their calendars and have reminders
alarms.
Those using the calendar method were people using notetakers,
PDAs, and
even cell phones.

So again, not to bring the conflict issue but people really love
the
electronic versions no matter what organization they are a part
of. Did
you try asking ACB if they could forward you an electronic copy
since
you do not have a cd drive? I personally have not heard of
external cd
drives being usb but I could be wrong. I really hope you get an
answer
to your problem. Another option might be to ask someone that
uses a
laptop when you get to convention to email it to you from your
copy of
the cd they give you.

Good luck.
Cindy

Subject: [Braillenote] Seeking External USB CD Drives That

Hi All:

My wife and I are trying to find out information on what
external CD drives which connect to the USB port will work
with both the Braillenote Mpower BT and the Voicenote Mpower
QT. We need this information because we're going to the ACB
Convention in a couple of weeks and the program is being made
available on CD this year, not floppy disk. My wife sent an
inquiry to this list about this topic earlier this week and
didn't get any response, so I'm asking again.

If anyone knows of External USB CD Drives that work with both
the BT and QT, as well as where they can be purchased, I'd
appreciate hearing about it as soon as possible so I can go buy
one.

Thanks,
