Nicole that is actually a good description of a note taker. The other
thing is that most if not all of what I call a note takers are all
instant on. Sure wouldn't want to wait for windows to boot if I was in a
meeting or class.

Actually, more. As far as accessible note takers go, I've always
considered them ready-to-use-no-installation and simpler than computers.

That is an interesting question especially when you consider that
anything you take notes on is in fact a note taker. I am not sure that
there really is an answer. You have laptops portables and PDA's Note
takers used to be defined as stand alone devices built for a specific
purpose.
