Rose and list
I thought I'd see what the fuss was all about. I downloaded the new NK.bin
file, deleted the old one from the card and put the new one on from my BN
Flash disk. I placed the SD card in my unit, did a reset with dots four,
six held down and heard the ascending tones! That's it! Everything went
dead! Had to do a service reset in order to get my unit back in operation
again. I tried this three times.
My 126 meg card from Humanware now has the new NK.bin for 7.01. a file
called eboot, another called eboot.zip, my product key, and the 7.0 download
instructions. The card should be properly prepared already for upgrading
since it came from Humanware. I deleted the newer NK.bin and downloaded it
directly to the SD card without copying from the M-power flash disk. The
results continue to be the same. Something isn't right I guess. I too will
await further instructions.

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] 7.01 Upgrade Question
I am back, well, I took the SD card HW sent me for one of the braille notes
and replaced the nk.bin file with the one I downloaded, tried to install
and
the braille note totally locked up, sat at the update prompt for over an
hour, nothing happened at all and the only way I could get it back was a
service reset. Now I have tried three cards, one from HW which I did not
reformat, one on which I had downloaded the upgrade to 7 long before it
was
mailed to me as I did not expect it to be mailed, and a fresh right out of
the package SD card which I formatted. Two cards say SD card error, one
sits on the update forever, and even turning off the BN left the update on
the display.
I can only think that something went wrong when I did 7.0, the units
upgraded, however, I remember on both units that when it cane to pressing
the 1-2 reset as defined in the instructions it never worked and I also
recall I was not the only one with this problem.
If this is the case, I doubt I will be able to upgrade to 7.2 either
without
some technical intervention.
Depressing thought.

Gail, if your upgrade is on an Sd card, go to Main Menu. Press dots 45
chord. You should start hearing beeps. You don't do it from the
Utilities
Menu. Do you already have 7.0? If you don't, you do need the EBOOT file
on
your Sd card, along with your product key. Otherwise, you don't.

Subject: [Braillenote] 7.01 Upgrade Question
I understand that I don't need a product key for 7.01. I have
the
nk.bin file copied onto an SD card. When I go to applications to
run
the file, I'mnot allowed to do so. What do I do?
