Hi Peggy,
   just my opinion, but I don't think the thumb keys are part of the 
braille display.  On the other hand, it would be very easy to replace the 
thumb keys during the transplant if you asked for that to be done.  If the 
button has just popped off the switch, it's quite likely that an IT 
technician should be able to pop it back on properly.
