Oh, okay. We never could get the serial port to work for us, but lo and
behold, my husband tried it a few weeks back and it works. Thanks for
clarifying.

Karen,
He has his setup for serial port and that should work okay.
You might check into the Bluetake adapter for Bluetooth from Enabling
Technologies I mentioned a few weeks back. That shows promise for me. I
hope to get one as soon as I am able to do so.

You won't be able to emboss with your Juliet Pro unless you buy another
device which hooks up via infrared or bluetooth. I'm still very upset
about having bought a USB to parallel converter which was expensive only
to learn that it doesn't work, and it was supposed to have been a sure
thing.

hi Jason:
I'm hoping Jim Aldrich responds. I can't help but wonder about the
Embosser Port, Serial setting. I know Jim dealt with this, so I hope
he's out there.

Subject: [Braillenote] Embosser settings
Hi all.
I'm new to this list, as I only got my Braille Note Mpower within
the last
couple weeks. I'm still trying to get used to its many features,
and I'm
still setting up the Braille Note to work with my existing
devices. I've
come across a problem with my Juliet Pro-60 when trying to emboss
docs from
Braille Note, but I haven't been able to track down the issue on
my own yet.
I've read through the Braille Note's manual on setting up
embossers, gone
through the embosser setup procedure, and made tripple sure I've
matched the
settings with my Juliet. I'm still having issues getting the
Braille Note to
emboss interpoint. I've run print test docs directly from the
Juliet to make
sure there's not a hardware problem, and it's embossing
perfectly, so it's
got to be a setting I've messed up or missed somewhere.
I've got the Mpower's embosser settings as follows:
Paper Length: 25
Paper Width: 33 (I'm using 8-1/2 by 11 embosser paper)
Use Form Feeds Between Pages: yes
Pause After Each Page: no
Emboss Both Sides of Page: yes
Page Offset: 0
Embosser Braille Table: Keysoft 6-dot english braille table.ebt
Embosser Port: serial
Baud Rate: 9600
Parity: none
Number of Data Bits: 8
Handshaking: software
Any ideas why I can't emboss interpoint? TIA
There is nothing more exhilarating than to be shot at without
result. Sir
