For DSL you need the low power Ethernet adapter from Socket Communications for your BrailleNote. The DSL modem, which is a box that plugs into the telephone line, an electric outlet and has an Ethernet connection to the Ethernet connector on the card in the BrailleNote works differently than the internal modem in the BrailleNote. Your DSL provider may give you a DSL modem free if you sign a one or two year contract with them, or let you buy one from them or the corner computer store. Hope this explains what is involved.
