I use a free downloadable program from NCH audio called Switch.
It will convert from almost any audio format to almost any other.
All encoding settings are settable. It will also work in batch
mode. If you google on NCH Switch Audio, you'll find the
download site.

Yes, but the playing of wav files isn't the question here. What
I clearly asked for was the name of the program that will convert
