GMail is now open for anyone who wishes to join, and it is accessible to
join. I have an account, but the pop requires SSL...

Hi Andy,
I haven't tried it yet, but Gmail may be an alternative. You have to be
invited to join the service--and finding the pop settings can be a
challenge
sometimes, but it is possible. If you want more info, write me off list.

From a quick look on the web, hotmail won't allow POP3 access. I may
be
wrong here.
To use KeyMail with an email service, you'll need to make sure they do
allow
POP3 access, and KeyMail doesn't support SSL connections so make sure the
service provider doesn't require SSL connections.
There seem to be quite a few around - I've been looking at a list on this
page: http://www.emailaddresses.com/email_pop.htm but I haven't found a
suitable one yet, and have run out of playtime.
If anyone finds a decent service provider could you let us know?
regards,
Andy.
