Hi:
My Wi-Fi experiences are different. I use it at home and while
traveling and have not experienced those problems you describe.
On occasion I will lose an internet radio broadcast and there are
times when I find the battery draining fast, but overall I am
thrilled with the performance. I use the Ambicom card on a BN
mPower QT. I wonder if the problem might be in your Wi-Fi card
or, perhaps, if you use it in the PCMCIA slot with an adapter -
that is my preferred position.

Subject: [Braillenote] my experiences with WIFI
Hi Everyone,
I thought I would report on my experiences using the BN with the
WIFI connection.
For the most part things were positive. The connection was often
unstable. The BN could connect to check for new email surf the
Internet, but it refused to send emails. Grequently the BN would
scan for wireless networks, refuse to name them, and create
records for unnamed networks. Then it would connect to these
unnamed networks and refuse to download email or surf the
Internet. Another problem I noted was sometimes the BN would
refuse to download Web pages that had the letters org at the end
of the Web addresses. For exaple the APH Web site, ACB Web site,
and the AFTERB Web site, sometimes the BN would download these
and others times this page appeared about an incorrect domain
name. Bizarre but positive those are my impressions of WIFI.
Sometimes the BN wouldn't ask me to turn wireless on it was just
on once the card was inserted. Anyway I'm glad to be back where
my Ethernet connection is stable.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Lisa
