I haven't really seen any swear words on this list: I have seen a
happy purple donkey.
You are right; subjects have gone far afield from the Braillenote
topics. If a person says, "this is off-topic, it's courteous not
to even put it on. The other thing that would make life easier
is to have the subject reflect what you're really talking about.
My other only real problem is when a person tries to get caught
up on messages that were talked about a month ago. Then, the
person writing the response makes a one-line comment about the
subject; most of us can't remember what the person is talking
about. Also, if we could take off the long string of "original
message", that would really help.
