Yes it is difficult to keep up with changes in technology.

In order to give the BrailleNote family wireless connectivity
which I take it you mean over a cellular telephone network, there
would have to be a hardware mod to install a cellular telephone
transceiver in the units.

This would be another drain on the battery and worse, you would
have to put in a transceiver for both GSM, the cellular system
used around the world except for Canada and the USA and CDMA the
standard with a bunch of carriers in Canada and the USA.

To make it even more interesting, The GSM carriers in the USA and
Canada don't all use the same frequencies and the rest of the
world uses still another frequency!

And there are three CDMA frequencies in use too.

It would be much better to accomplish Cellular Connectivity
through the use of a CF or SD or PC/MCIA card that was compatible
with the BrailleNote family of products.

That way you can buy the card appropriate for your carrier in
your part of the world and if you roam elsewhere, just buy the
appropriate card for where you will be going.

I realize this is a bureaucratic and wordy answer, but the world
just can't seem to standardize on just one Cellular Telephone
specification.
