What email are you wanting to check. I don't know if you said before and I forgot to mention that I am unable to check my school email using activesyn and the braillenote. I think it it has something to do with ssl authentication or something like that. But it works for checking my main email acounts. I don't know if they will let you install activesync, I would be very surprised if they did.

I have used the method described at home on my PC. However, I do
not live
at school and will not be using my own computer. I'll have to
see if it is
possible to use activesyn at school on the computers in the
library.

I thought I would reply to this as well since I connect to my
school's network though activesync. All I did is I set up a lan
connection under dial-up and lan connections under connectivity.
Press enter on create a new dial-up or lan connection. It is
similar to creating a dial-up connection. You need to have a
partnership with activesync between your pc or laptop and your
BrailleNote or VoiceNote. I have to use secure authentication I
think. I will check. I have the name of my school and select
eithernet connection not the wireless select yes for obtain an
ip
address and no for use proxy server. I hope this helps other
wise email me and I can walk you through it if you would like.

Katie,

How do you use ActiveSync to connect to your schools network?
Are you
living on campus and using your own computer or does this work on
other
computers?

Subject: [Braillenote] connecting via ActiveSync

Hello List,

I am trying to connect to the internet via ActiveSync at my
internship. I know this can be done, because I connect to my
school's network using this method. Is their somekind of
setting (s) I need to change, or what?

Thank you,

Katie
