Hi Listers:
I've seen the various emails to this list about obtaining a list of the
newest books in english on bookshare.org. there is such a list available
at:
www.jbrownell.com
Select the item entitled "Useful bookshare.org lists" (second from top.
This will bring up another page. Select the item entitled "English books
sorted by most recent [bookshare.org] publication date" (second from top
and you will have the list of the newest books in English added to the
collection. this will avoid allthe Spanish books that appear on the
bookshare.org's list of 100 newest books.
Also there is a mailing list run by a bookshare.org volunteer who copies
this lsit when new books are added and will send it to the mailing list.
If anyone wants this info, please email me off-line.
And while I am at it, I'd like to add to Ann Parson's comments about
bookshare.org. I myself don't like scanned books with errors in them, but
usually the books that quth quality "excellent" contain very few if any
errors. One outstanding feature of bookshare.org is making books availble
on the New York Times Best seller List on bookshare.org. bookshare.org
has done a fabulous job making such books available and there is aton of
themnow available on bookshare.org.
As one who is dependent solely on braille books, bookshare.org
is a great resource. More and more books are being corrected as they are
scanned.
As an example, bookshare.org made "The Memory Keeper's daughter" by Kim
edwards available a few days ago. this book made the New York Times best
seller list at the end of July.
Hats off to bookshare.org!
Barb
