Dear BrailleNote ListServ,

I have notice that while I was in Napa a few days ago for the Way Fun event
that I notice that a lot of the units having some odd behavior.

The first of the odd behavior began when I notice my unit sstuttering. I
realize that there has been some problems with the mPowers and eloquence, so
I switched to KeyNote gold to see if that would resolve something, which
lead to no avail. I tried multiple things while I was in the Napa area, some
of them including a simple reset and a hard reset, which yet again lead to
no avail. I have also notice this happening with many of the other mPowers
and a few of the PK's. The units were also llocking up, forcing the user to
perform a reset. The PK users were also noticing stuttering in the voice,
and it could of not been eloquence, as there is not an option for eloquence
on the PK.

Here is the part that I found even more odd. As soon as we ggot out of the
Napa area, after being there for two days, all of the odd behavior dealing
with units locking up and stuttering in the speech syntesizer were gone. The
only difference that I can find in comparing Napa and San Francisco is
altitude and being surrounded by tree vs. being surrounded by tall
buildings, these aare all physical differences, which I do not believe
affects the BrailleNotes.

The next thing that I have found has occurred every so often, not on a
regular basis though. This mainly happens when I am doing an address search,
and sometimes in other searches where a search string is necessary. I have
notice that in entering a search string into the address search every so
often, the speech will turn from my traditional rate, which is 13 to 16,
then I will have to lower the rate then raise it again, to get it back to
the normal rate. I have notice this on a unit that was running 3.3, which is
now running 3.5, on KeySoft 7.0. I have also tried the same thing on a unit
that is running KeySoft 7.01 with 3.5, again the same sparatic voice
changing is occuring. It is not a really big deal to raise the rate then to
lower it again, but I just thought that I would point this

I hope that someone is able to give me some sort of answer to what is
occuring.

Kevin
