David, It is only possible with certain zip files. Depending on the compression level and the way it was compressed will determine whetehr or not it is possible. Most of the time, the standard files with zipped documents will be able to be unzipped using the BrailleNote by renaming it with a .bks extension. But, for example, if you have the BrailleNote GPS and you are trying to unzip the map data, it is not possible, you must use a pure winzip application.
