It sounds like they might have sent you the wireless card instead.

Malaina,
Thanks. I thought I could plug the ethernet chord there. I'm glad for the
help. I guess though, they've sold me the wrong card, according to Brian's
description. Thanks again.

The slot by the two USB chords is for the phone modem not for ethernet.
IF you have an MPower it should have come with a chord to plug into your
phone line and the unit. This only is for dialup users though. Ethernet
is all together different although it may look similar the sizes are
different. I hope this helps. You would need to get a cable and a card
for ethernet to use with dsl or cable internet.

I know it seems like I am dumb, but when I 2tried to plug the
regular
ethernet cable in to slot next to the two usb slots, it did not
go.
That's what made me think I needed a special kind of chord.
Thanks.

Dear Rusty and Sharonda:
You can buy an Ethernet cord, called an Ethernet cable, at the
friendly local computer store or Radio Shack.
These cables are made to handle various speeds of Ethernet. I
think the cable for the 5 megabits per second flavour of
Ethernet
is known as a Cat 6 Ethernet cable.
Ethernet cables come in lengths of from about 6 feet to 100
feet.
I have a 50 foot cat 6 cable and suppose it would work on a
slower Ethernet connection.
Hope this helps.
Brian
