Jonathan, that would be good news. Will the BN currently work with any
other visual display apart from the Palm Tungsten E2 you mention?
In addition, will it ever be possible for one BN to use a second BN to
(say) speak to a deaf-blind person and write in descriptions or talk
points as they're given in perhaps a more meaningful way than you can
manage when spelling hand to hand so quickly?

Hi Keith, when we release KeySoft 7.2, we are anticipating offering
support for a compact flash VGA card. This means you will be able to
connect a standard PC monitor to your BrailleNote mPower.
Right now though, you could use the Palm Tungsten E2 with our Palm Visual
Display software. Right now though, there is no easy way to switch
between
which BrailleNote you monitor, unless you were to buy a Palm for each
user.

Hi Jonathan
I am a blind VI teacher with a resource room. Nine of my students are
using notetakers. Right now, I need to have my sighted instructional
assistants monitor what students are doing in the general ed class using
a PDA, desktop, or notebook computer. They are sighted and do not need
braille or speech access. I am interested in learning how to do what
you mention below for myself, but if there is something simpler for
someone who is sighted, I am interested in learning about it.
Am I able to use blue tooth or connect a CF card that plugs into a
standard computer monitor for viewing? I believe there is something
called a Voyager Card that may allow this to happen, but it was a long
time ago that I heard about it and it may be for another notetaker. But
wireless access is the way I would like to go.
I have upto three students in a class using Braille Notes and I need to
be able to switch between viewing each students' work. Hopefully your
recommendations will allow me to switch between Braille Note users
easily.

Hi Keith, I'm assuming in my post here that you are blind so
accessibility
is important. If that's not the case, then I have some other
suggestions.
Assuming that it is the case then, your best bet would be to use the
BrailleNote Visual Display feature in conjunction with Hyperterminal on
a
PC. That PC can of course be a laptop. The BrailleNote can use Bluetooth
for the Visual Display feature, and if you set up a Bluetooth serial
port
that Hyperterminal can use on the laptop, then you can be some distance
away from the student and still monitor what they are doing. Hope this
helps.
