No, as far as I know I don't have French installed, unless, of course, some gremlins did it when I wasn't looking! A simple reset was always a fix for it.

Rachael, do you have french installed? I don't and I know we
talked about the whole french thing a while back but I am still
kind of confused as to why it is there. I have only ever done a
simple reset on my bn. It was just really strange and
interesting all at the same time.

Hi Malaina and list,

I've had that problem, with the French, and reported it on this
list. I never got an explanation for it. However, as you say, a
simple reset puts everything right, so it never seemed like much
of an issue to me.

Lately, though, my MPower is acting very sluggish. Occasionally,
it will make that little beep it does when, say, you've reached
the end of a document. It will also stop speaking in the middle
of an email, and I have to start it talking again. I'm assuming
there's some sort of a memory issue going on, but I don't know
how to fix it. Has anyone encountered anything like this, or does
anyone have a suggestion for what to do to fix it? BTW, the only
reset I haven't tried is the service reset, and this is because
I'm a confirmed coward. I can do that if I have to, but so far,
have opted to just put up with its silliness.

TIA,

Rachael

Earlier today I was using my bn and had checked my memory by
doing read with i after entering support information mode. It
basically said I didn't have a lot of memory left and I had just
tried to check my email and it wouldn't let me down load it. I
went to option and went to change my speech to keynote gold
because eloquence was very sluggish. It wouldn't not let me
change the speech and it started talking it what I think was
french. I don't have a multi language package on my unit. It
was very strange and it did that still when I got on the
humanware home page. After I did a simple reset everything went
back to normal. Has this happened to anyone else? Also when I
use my wireless card I notice that I have less memory available
when my card is in my bn QT Mpower verses when it is out. I
don't understand why since I don't have anything saved on it. I
had a friend of mine listen to it too and she heard the French
speech. The only thing with french on my unit is the french
option that some of the units have even though french isn't
installed. I hope this makes some sense and that I didn't
confuse anyone.

Malaina
