Yes, you can record onto the thumb drive from your mPower, and save onto it just like a CF card. Also, if your computer has a USB port, you can copy and move files between your BN and the PC using the thumb drive. That's how I do it...

Also, when you insert the device into your PC, it will show up just like a floppy would etc.

They would go into the USB host ports if they're USB vthumb drives,
which I presume they are. Hope that helps.

Hi Terry,

A thumb drive is, well, about as big as a thumb! Or maybe a
cigarette lighter? They come in many different capacities, but
are always the same size. As for cost, I don't remember. I do
know that they are much cheaper now than they used to be! Amazon
sent me an ad yesterday, telling me about one that's only about
$25! But that's here in the UK.

HTH,

Rachael

Hi Rachael;
How big is a thumb drive and how does it connect to an M-power?
About how much does one cost and what brands work with the

M-power?

Thanks.

Chris,

You might also consider getting a thumb drive. I have the 80GB

hard

drive, which is wonderful for storing large quantities of stuff.

But the

thumb drive is tiny, but not so small that you'd be likely to

havve

trouble with it. Just small enough to fit in your pocket, and can

hold

quite a lot. Mine is a 1GB Sandisk. I am recommending this in

addition

to the larger hard drive, and thinking that it might be a better

choice

than the card. But then, I'm a person who believes in all the

storage

you can possibly get! I have lots of it, in many forms, and use

them

all!

Take care, Chris, in that some have found this drive a little

slow,

though I
personally am happy enough with the speed. Also, although we're

not

sure of
the reason, you can't record directly on to this drive so it's

only

really
good for storage. It's a great little drive. The small USB plug

may be

a
little difficult for you to manage and, without seeing your

dexterity

problems first-hand, I can't say a "Yes" or "No" to that one, but

you'll

probably need to use two hands to do it.

Thanks for the advice. I think that would be easier than those

fiddly

cards. Thanks again.

Dear Chris,

If you are using a Bn M-Power, the exteranal hard-drive

would be

easier. (Quite a few on this List have them.) In fact,

the

though,

they are not very expensive, about $10, US currecy.

Equally

I used a free telephone number to order mine. (SInce you arein

the

I don't kow if this will work!) The number is:

You can check cost on www.pricewatch.com.
I don't have the Web address for Western Digital here at my

desk.

However, I'm sure others will provide it.
