Is it necessary to buy the PCMCIA adapter to use these 2GB SD cards? Why
will they not properly work in the SD card slot?

Subject: [Braillenote] 2 gb SD cards work in MPower units
Hi Folks,
Just wanted to report that 2 gb SD, yes secure digital cards, work in the
MPower units.
I just bought two kingston 2 gb SD cards from buy.com for under $29.0 each
after rebate.
I put them in to my PC slot and they come up as 2 gb in size and work very
nicely.
So for those who were wondering about SD cards larger than 1gb, now you
know.
Regards,
Roger Behm
P.S. Oh yah, I forgot to mention that you need a pcmcia adaptor card that
fits SD cards. I found them also on buy.com for about $25.00 each.
