Leslie,

I remember that there were problems for some people in getting these files so they zipped a version of them to help these particular people. Most times people take the unzipped files from the download section of Humanware, so next time you may just take the .EXE and .NB0 files and not need to unzip them. The only advantage in downloading zipped files is that they take less space so they're faster to download. If this is not a problem to you then you don't need to look for a zipped version.

OK, goodnight, or it's Good morning here! I'm off to bed!

Subject: [Braillenote] Instruction is Missed again.

Dear Editor:

Your instruction says..

3. If you have downloaded onto a PC, copy both the NK.nb0 and BrailleNote
7_01 PK Upgrade.exe files into the root/top level directory of the
CompactFlash card.

Installing the Upgrade.

1. Ensure your PK is switched on, the AC Adapter connected, and the Compact
Flash card is inserted in the card slot at the back of the PK.

2. From the Main Menu choose Utilities by typing "U" or using the spacebar,
cycle through the options until you get to "Utilities" and press ENTER.

////////

It miss to say about the download needs unzip a file. You may edit them in
the instruction.

After I made the file unzip and I copy it and paste it via PC Active Sync to
PK CF drive.

It is successful that the application can see the only filename.exe. as you
read below which they are not in the instruction, too.

DISPLAY: BrailleNote PK Upgrade: Install KeySoft 7.01? (It is recommended
that you

backup your Flash Disk before installing)

LESLIE: So I guess to press y for yes.

DISPLAY: BrailleNote PK Upgrade: Please wait while installing. To start the

installation, press ENTER

LESLIE: (I press enter).

DISPLAY: Utilities menu

NOTE: I dislike this display because it could cause the deaf-blind user
confused. I am just luck because I ignored the display but I followed the
instruction. I can feel "beeps" as it is processing. Anyway, the display
should say, "waiting".

DISPLAY: BrailleNote PK Upgrade: Installation complete. To continue, press
RESET

LESLIE: (I press c3 + c4 and hold for 3 seconds.)

NOTE: I check the information (Main Menu > Information) and see what will
the version say.

Thank you for your understanding with my many frustrations and fails because
of miss something in the instruction.

Leslie Peterson-

The deaf-blind PK user
