The GPS is a separate product that must be purchased and installed on the BN. However, I know what you mean. A German company makes a notetaker called the Pronto, and it is a really neat machine. It is the size of a PK, maybe a bit bigger, but includes a GSM cell radio, wireless, a modem, and more. My point is that one of its features is a reading of the user's compass heading, surrounding temperature, and (I think) barometric pressure. I do not know how they do that, but it must be some chip with external sensors on the unit.

All I am trying to say is that it is possible.

Subject: [Braillenote] My new idea of Compass

I got an new idea but I do not know if it is possible. Could we add the
compass device and its driver into our BrailleNote family? Is it include
GPS? Is GPS already include the compass?
