Dear Tomi,
This is Joseph. I'm hnot sure about PDI hooks file (I've never tried it). To
shut down JAWS (yes, shutdown or exit is more appropriate here), press the
key assigned as JAWS key (I've forgot the keystroke), release it, then press
the key that is assigned to F4 (again, I've forgot it). I'm guessing here
that you can write in contracted braille (could somebody like Paul, Rhonda,
or someone clarify this?). I hope this information might help you.
P.S. And Wlcome to the list! I'm sure that you will learn a lot from us.

Subject: [Braillenote] braillenote keyboard emulator

Hi list,

I've just tryed out the braille note keyboard emulator that can be
downloaded from humanware's website. I'm sure someone tried this...

I have a few questions concerning this emulator thing. I have bluetooth
built into this thinkpad laptop so, It's just the coolest thing I ever
tried.

1. What is the PDIhooks thing? when ever I start jaws with the braille
terminal, it starts up and an error message comes up. Not sure why they put
this file in the emulator.

2. Is there a way to shut up JAWS? the keyboard command dots 3 4 7 do not
seem to work. Rather, it produces a 2 in the document I'm writing.

3. Is there a way to write in contracted braille? Not sure if you can change
you're braille grade from computer braille to grade 2. It would just make
things easier since it takes about a 0.2 second lag for the command to be
sent over from my bn to my computer via bluetooth.

Well, I hope someone can help.

And thanks in advance!

Regards:
Tomi
