I do have the 7.1 upgrade, however, since I installed it I have had no reason to set an alarm, I generally remember my appointments and times and often am already there when the alarm would go off, not wanting to disturb others, I just don't set them any longer.

When I would reset I would lose all alarms consequently, not receive my reminder appointment. If you upgraded to 7.0 or 7.01 it should have that patch in it, and you should have better luck with your alarms. occasionally I will go to the planner utility maintenance and run that and it will come back saying planner was updated successfully.
