Jonathan, I have something totally weird with my Braille Note Mpower transplant. I'm running ks 7.0. Anyway At the end of July, I got the message that the battery was not critical and could not give an accurate indication of its status. Well, I let it run down and recharged and it still said this. I calibrated the battery and _still I was getting this message. At the time I pressed the R. per the instructions in the manual. After still getting the message that the machine was not able to give a percentage of accuracy, I again recalibrated the battery using the letter G. and let the ol boy chatter for something like 22 hours. Still I got the message so called tech support and they took my serial number and phone number down and said someone would call me. I asked if I could still run the machine and they said yes. Well I ran it until the battery ran flat, plugged it in and did this for a couple of cycle. Ok here is the clincher. After about the third or fourth time of running down the battery and recharging I decided a couple of weeks ago to check the battery status. It read power level 75% and when I checked the accuracy the Braille Note said "gauge is accurate." I am beginning to think this Braille Note has gremlins in it. In April we had a database in the dictionary which caused the Braille Display to have a coronary and now this. This is one time I am glad I still haven't heard from Humanware because I think they would be wasting their time with this machine.

Hi Chris,

Prior to 7.2 when you checked the power status you were sometimes told
that the battery gauge needed recalibrating and was too inaccurate to give
a percentage. In this situation it now gives you a percentage and
recommends that you "condition" the battery. To condition the battery you
simply charge it fully, use the mPower on battery power until the "Battery
critical" message is displayed, and then fully charge it again.
Conditioning the battery when reminded ensures that the battery achieves
its maximum life and keeps the battery gauge calibrated so that you are
given an accurate percentage when checking the power status.

Hope that helps

Best regards

Jonathan

[Braillenote] Battery query

Hi all,
I've just been reading the Keysoft 7.2 readme, and it mentioned that there
are changes to the information regarding the battery. Please tell me what
are these changes? I'm getting an MPower soon, so I'm anxious to know. I
tried to look for the 7.2 user guide, but couldn't find it. Thanks for any
help.
