Hello,
The reason for doing this is if your cells are sticking, you can sometimes get them to work properly by exercising the display and not have to send it back. It is also a good idea to do this from time to time so that the pins are exercised and working properly.
Hth,
Robert

Why would you want to do this?

Subject: [Braillenote] Exercising a Braille Display

Hello All:

I've heard people talk on here of "Exercising" a Braille Display
on the
Braillenote. The only way I can see to do this is turning the
display
off and on. Is there another process you can use to exercise the
display? If so, please let me know as I can't find anything in
the
User's Guide about this. Exercising a display is, among other
things,
supposed to help when some of the pins won't go back down.
