Well I did the 34 simply because at the time I didn't know which
was the 1 and the 4. Now I had been fighting with this pk my vn
had fried and I had spent something like 5 hours doing this
stuff. Suffices to say the 34 reset apparently accomplished what
was needed because the pk came up saying Braille Note pk version
7.2 build xxx so I am leaving it alone.
But I did press what I thought was 1 and 4 and nothing happened
so I think we need clearer instructions on that. Another thing,
in the next upgrade, please put a small paragraph in about
formatting the flash cards I mean that would have saved more than
2 hours of aggrivation on my part.
But boy oh boy I am happy with how I can open and move and copy
files in that file manager. I actually coppied 2 files into a
different folder by marking them and then erased the folder which
had been accidentally made in the summer sometime.

A couple of things here. First, I am finding the same thing as

mentioned below regarding the joystick on the PK.
And, second, a couple of likely small issues regarding the PK
upgrade
instructions.
One: These sentences in the upgrade instructions kind of confused
me. "8.
KeySoft will announce and display: "BrailleNote PK upgrade:
installation
complete. To continue, press reset." This will be followed by the
display,
"off"
and two beeps." I did get the message about the upgrade being
complete and
to press reset, but I didn't get anything on the display showing
off or the
two beeps. However, since the very next sentence said to reset
with the
c1/c4 reset, I wasn't sure if a c3/c4 reset should have been done
first or
not. So, trying to follow the
instructions, I didn't do a c3/c4 reset at all; but, rather, did
the c1/c4
reset, and then got the two beeps after that reset completed.
Two, and of course a very minor issue, but there is a sentence in
the PK
upgrade instructions that reads "Place the CompactFlash card into
the
machine and press the reset button on the left side of the unit."

While working with two other pk users, we discovered that if you
go
to options and keyboard and change your keyboard braille grade
from
grade 2 to computer braille, the joystick starts working again at
the
menus. If you switch back to grade 2 for the keyboard grade, the
joystick stops working.
