Absolutely about 4 times even with Sarah at tech support and to no avail.
We did every reset known to Voicenote and nothing.
Robin says it is a memory failure which is rare, kind of like when my operating system got erased from my IBM! That's why I don't mess with computers, if you want your operating systems erased, send your voice Notes and Braille Notes and Pk's to ol Mare and she will do it just fine and won't have clue one as to how it was done.

Very dumb question here, I know, but you did perform a service reset on the fried VN, did you not? I'm sure you did, but I had to ask.

Well I suspect that the Voice was about ready to go out and the
upgrade was just the thing to push it over the cliff.
Fortunately it is the machine I can most afford to be without
which is not usually the case.
And I had just early yesterday morning, put everything on that
flash disk on an external micro drive for storage.
Ah well, such is life!

It has to go in. I mean this thing is fried. They have to look at
something
else while its there so it will be a good thing.

Hi Mary Ellen,
Were the people in NZ able to help you fix your unit or do you
have to
send it in?

Don't worry, it wasn't any power, it was something very unusual.
It just
happened that way and I am just happy it wasn't the Braille Note.

Fried? Oh no! Just what I don't want to hear. I'm always afraid
as it
is that there will be a power outage or something while I'm
upgrading,
which is not all that uncommon here. I'm waiting to read a few
more
adventures before I take the plunge.

Ok before I tell you what happened I don't want to hear any
gripes about
humanware's tech support. I just got a call from New Zeeland
because I
started to upgrade the voice note and it fried.
So I called Tech Support they said they would get back to me, and
they did
in a huge way.
So I am getting on this list to publicly thank them for their
quick
response.
Ok let me get back to the Braille Note and see the wonderful new
things.
