I do not believe that the Holux is the only receiver that will work with
the Braillenote GPS. For one thing, when you buy the GPS product, it
ships with a different receiver. The holux is sold as an option.

Hi,
The GPS from Sendero is excellent! The new Holux receiver is a huge
improvement. Not only does it have an on/off switch, but it is more
accurate and finds Satellites much more quickly.
That is the only option for the BrailleNote/VoiceNotes.
Humanware does sell the Trekker, which is a stand alone unit. It is a
small PDA with a wireless bluetooth receiver. Some people prefer it
because they don't have to carry the BrailleNote to use the GPS.
It doesn't have as many GPS features as the Sendero GPS, but some people
love it.

You can read about the Sendero program at:
www.senderogroup.com
and the Trekker at:
http://www.humanware.ca/web/en/d_NewFeatures_Trekker_2_7.asp

I hope this helps.
