I do not believe that the Holux is the only receiver that will work with the Braillenote GPS. For one thing, when you buy the GPS product, it ships with a different receiver. The holux is sold as an option. Andy

Some people prefer it because they don't have to carry the BrailleNote to use the GPS. It doesn't have as many GPS features as the Sendero GPS, but some people love it.
