Hello Stacey,
I am using a bt keyboard with a 32 cell display.
Though I haven't had the problems Tom mentioned, I have come across others today. For instance, some of the papers I have downloaded in Daisy format, it would lockup and I would have to do a reset before getting to that file.
So, though I don't have some problems, I have come across others.
It seems to me, that they should not have sent ks 7.2 out since it seems to have a lot of bugs.

Hello Tom,
I have downloaded several daisy books from bookshare last night,
as well as today.
I have had no problems with unpacking them and reading them.
I will keep an eye on this, to see if I get your error at some
point.
there has been much on the list about different problems, and
some of them I have not experienced yet.
I tried the web pages earlier, and found the thumb keys previous
and next to work just fine, I have tried opening a .brf file and
then switching to the calculator and performing a function, and I
received the results, and then switched back to the file I was
reading.
Though these problems have not happened for me, it doesn't mean
that they don't exist, so I will keep a look out for them.
Regards,
Robert Stigile

Subject: [Braillenote] Two problems with Bookshare Daisy Books

Hi,
I've run across two problems with some Bookshare books in daisy
format.

In one case, I get an error 202 when unpacking the file.

In the second case, another file unpacks successfully, but I'm
told that I
can't read the book in HTML format. On a second attempt to read
the book,
which, by this time is already unpacked, it appears to open fine.
Very
strange indeed.

Hi Stacey,

Go to the fs site, then the link for jaws headquarters, then the
link for
training.

You can find several things there including a link called
additional daisy
and .mp3 books which has some smaller files which you can
download.

So far as I can tell, these are audio daisy books with no text.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi Don,
I looked on fs last night and I found one thing in daisy. It was
171 megs. If you've found something that is in daisy from there
that works, could you tell me exactly what you downloaded so I
could try?
Thanks,

Stacey and Chesley

Hi Stacey,

If you go to the freedom scientific site:

http://www.freedomscientific.com

and locate training for jfw, you will find some files in audio
daisy format.

I think they are .zip files. There are several up there. Even
if you don't use jfw, they are interesting for testing the audio
books daisy reader.

Most others that I know of are only available on cd and would
need to be copied to an MPower from that.

Aph and AFB might be other sources although I've been unable to
find the books for free download.

Don
