I just installed KeySoft 7.2 early yesterday, and here's my first
impressions. Definitely nice to be able to simply launch the associated app
after hitting enter on the doc, makes my BN feel more like Windows. I'd
noticed that the 7.0 media player had some problems playing a few mp3 files,
coming back with invalid file format errors, even when Winamp on my pc's
play these files perfectly. Out of a collection of about 18 mp3's I made,
only two would play in 7.0, but now I can play a tad over half without the
invalid file format error with 7.2. Haven't had the chance to determine
whether a couple if-archive.org z-machine games that crashed the player in
7.0 have the same effect on 7.2 yet. My Braille Note seems to be running a
tad more quickly with the new update, and I haven't come across any lock-ups
I'd noticed with the two previous versions. My battery charge indicator
seems to be lasting longer than it used to in the previous version (if I had
my BN fully charged and all cf and other periferals unplugged, detached the
power cord, then let it sit for about 5 or 6 days without running it, when
I'd pick it up, the battery would be completely flat).

Now I'm an old BNS 2000 user, and one of the things I miss since my BNS
kicked the can a few months back is it's metric conversion in the
calculator. Any chance we'll see this in the next KeySoft update? Since I'm
writing a Star Trek novel, I've got to convert U.S. standard measurements
into metric, and I do plenty of scientific reading that requires me to make
these conversions as well. And a hex to binary to decimal converter would
also be a great addition as well, then I wouldn't ever have to fumble around
with the clunky Windows Calculator again.

All in all, I'm relatively pleased with the new features I've found in the
latest KeySoft update, and I look forward to future bug fixes and nifty
features!

Of course, we are all worms--but I like to think, at least, that I am a
glowworm.
