Jose, that explains it! You need an Ambicom 1100 CCF. We have
been putting out a list of things that work. D Link isn't one of
them, (smile).

Jose where did you get your card from and what kind is it. The
first time I tried a card in my bn my unit froze. That was
before I knew I need a spasific type of card and Staples and
those places don't sell them.

Hello; Rhonda, well strange thing. When I put my wireless card
in it just froze on me. The whole thing shut it self off the
display was off and the unit. Don't ask me why I don't know. I
was fortunate that a service reset did the trick. Oh! Why does
this happen? Please write back.

Jose, I'm not clear on what you are asking exactly.
Have you set up your Directory of Accounts? Then, you would put
your wireless card in. You would press O chord, C, W. You will
be asked if your wireless card is turned on. If you see "no",
press Y for yes. I would space down to: "scan for a wireless
connection?" Press Enter. Press Space, and you should see a
connection. When you do, Enter on that, and give it a name.
Do you have a wireless router? I know that seems like a strange
question, but if you are using your wireless from home, you need
to be set up for it. Sorry if this is redundant.

Hello; Rhonda, Sorry to budd in. But how come my wireless card
doesn't work? Its like a pc card. But the BrailleNote won't say
network card ready. In fact it won't say a word. Please write
back.

Malaina, when it is the "network" card is ready, it means the
wireless card is in. It doesn't have anything to do with the
network folder. It is telling you that your wireless card has
been inserted. You wouldn't find it in a drive. Once you see
that "network card ready" indication, you can check for email, or
go up on the internet. It's just like when you put your Compact
Flash card in, you would see "compact flash card reader", or if
you put it in the right side, it would read, "pc card ready".
Does this make sense? I know, I talked in circles here.

Rhonda it was really strange because I had just started to have
problems this afternoon. I checked the cables and the modem and
unplugged the one in the router and plugged it back in. I don't
know what to think. It is working fine for the moment so I don't
know. It was just odd because even though it said network and pc
card was ready I could only find pc card but when it worked and I
could check mail or get online network showed up. When I first
got my card it said net work and pc card ready. This was when I
did have a router and network showed up. That was why I thought
a problem might be with the card not the connection. It is
possible it could be the connection because I do need to replace
a cable but one sec it worked and the next it didn't. No one had
walked by the cables so I know no one trip over them or pulled
them out of the phone jack.

Malaina, I may have misunderstood what you said, and if so, I
apologize. I assumed it was in your wireless connection. If
that were true, when you check E-mail, and you got to your
wireless connection, you could space down to your connection. We
may be talking about two different animals here.

I am sure. I check the braille display and although I have
gotten those messages before this is different. When I have gone
through the list of drives to see what shows up it goes from
flash drive, keysoft system disk, then pc card instead of
after keysoft network card and then pc card. I looked at this
quite a few times before writing to the list.

Malaina, are you sure it's not saying "new visible network", or
"non-preferred network"? If, by chance it says either one of
those, go ahead and try connecting, or space down to your
connection.

Subject: [Braillenote] wire.ess card trouble I think
Hi list. I have been having some problems with I think my
network card today. When I put it in my bn it says network card
ready pc card ready and then it sometimes says no visable
network. Then sometimes it does and when it doesn't the network
drive is gone from my list of drives. This happens even whe
first putting it in my bn and it says both the network and pc
cards are ready. Is my card going bad already? Thoughts
oppinions I don't think me upgrading to 7.2 should have had
anything to do with it.
