Control 8 has been around since long before KS7.2. I've been
using it to
quickly trash an Email, or a bunch of marked Email, since 5.1.
It's the
same thing as moving a message to trash. Freeing database space
only does
any good after the trash has been emptied, until then, the trash
is just
taking up space. I'm sure I'm still not clear, I just don't know
how to say
things right, and it's almost time for this happy little Braille
production
worker to go home!

Hi Sarah,
Personally, I don't understand why you would need Ctrl + 8, if
it is not something that frees space.
When finihed with a message in E-Mail, I either delete it or
answer "Trash" when asked to which folder I want to move it.
When I'm ready to clean house, I use e s f, and the datebase
is freed of trash.
(Maybe I said the same thing you did. Howevr, at the moment,
when I key Ctrol +8, it doesn't do trash. Just remember, I'
still using KS7.01.)
