My comments are at the end: 1.17.3 Start-up Braille and Speech Mode. The BrailleNote PK may be forced to start in one of three modes when it is switched on. You may choose to start with Braille only, speech only, or both Braille and speech. This feature is very convenient if, for example, you have previously been using both Braille and speech, but you are now attending a meeting and for privacy you wish to start in the Braille only mode. As you turn on the switch, simply hold down one of the following key combinations: Speech only: dot 2; Braille only: dot 3; Speech and Braille: both dots 2 and 3. I was curious, so I tried this. It doesn't work as written. However, if you turn the PK off while holding down one of the keys, or key combinations, then turn it back on holding that same key or key combination, it works fine.
