That is because the sound card drivers does not support it. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jean Menzies Sent: Friday, September 15, 2006 8:09 PM To: Braillenote List Subject: Re: [Braillenote] mp3 files
Hi Alex Thanks for your enlightenment. I'm very disappointed there is no variable speed for mp3 files. When they said they were introducing the Daisy support, I thought it would be like the desktop Daisy players where you can adjust the rate of playback of ANY audio file on the CD whether it's an actual Daisy markup or mp3 or whatever. I have little value for the mPower Daisy playback then, because any Daisy books I get are already on CD and I may as well use the CD Daisy Player. It would make no sense to take the CD, copy it to a card and put it in the mPower. The audio files available for download from the CNIB library are all mp3 files, and I'm still stuck with listening to them at normal speed which I can't stand. This was an upgrade I was really looking forward to, but it won't change how I access my listening material then. I'm very disappointed.
