Hi Kathy,
The network was free to any hotel guest. They told me what the
network password should be. I usually scan for available
connections and when I do so, I get a non preferred network in my
configuration connections. I try going onto a website and
usually get "the page not found" message. I found that if my
M-power would give me some introductory information rather than
the above page not found message, I'm in luck. I exit out and
look at the link itself just in case I need to go in again! Once
I brought up the introductory material which told me a bit about
what I was connected to, I did a spacebar with dot four to arrow
down through the information, looking for any log on information.
I encountered some kind of "writing error" message which seemed
to stop me in my tracks so to speak. I couldn't move beyond it
so I thought at first. When I encountered that "writing error
message again, i moved through everything one character at a
time. I discovered I could move one word at a time. I was in
some kind of terms and conditions area which I needed to accept
before I could log onto their network. I read part of that stuff
and lost patience. I went to the bottom of the page and worked
my way back till I found an accept button or decline button. I
pressed enter on the accept button. I then got the log in
instructions and found the place to type in the password given to
me by the hotel. I typed this in and got some message that I
didn't have enough memory to process something. I of course was
persistent and I tried logging onto their network to go on a
website. I did so successfully. I then downloaded my EMAIL with
no difficulty! I could go on and off the network as I pleased! I
checked out of the hotel this afternoon and they may reset
something, I really don't know. I found I couldn't log on this
afternoon to download my email so I could process it while riding
home on the bus which is what I'm doing presently. I had to do
the above proceedure again but I was able to do this much faster
since I knew what to expect. Once I gave the correct password, I
was in once again and was able to download my EMAIL.
HTH

network
Jim, Could you tell us how you managed to connect to the hotel
network?
Is it one for which you pay? Did you need to enter a password and
username given to you by the hotel?
I have tried using such a wifi network while we were in a
campground, and had no success whatsoever, so your experiences
would be most helpful.
Thanks in advance.

I say again! How wonderful! Here I am in a hotel I haven't stayed
in before. With a bit of persistence, I managed to log onto the
hotel network. I did find a Linksys network which allowed me to
download my EMAIL, but couldn't figure out how to connect to the
main hotel network. I just finished figuring it out and now
everything works like a charm!
I fully realize there are bugs in 7.2 with the PK Joy Stick not
working as an example. I can see where some are disappointed in
the daisy operation, but then overall, I say a number of people
on this list have made Keysoft 7.2 look worse than it actually
is! I say hats off to Humanware and I'm greatful for having this
wonderful product. I'm now in this hotel room processing my
EMAIL when I should be asleep (grin smile)!

Hello all!
I really don't see what all the fuss is about! My M-power works
as well as it ever did now that I have Keysoft 7.2. If I have
encountered anything unusual, it could be something inherent in
the BN or software itself but my particular unit has been working
very well! I think the battery seems to be working better as
well. I of course haven't tried the Daisy formatted material but
I think the improvements to the file mamager are certainly well
worthwhile! I'm on the bus writing this so when I find a wireless
connection where I am going or a phone line, I'm certain I'll be
able to send this post. Count me in as one of the satisfied
users of 7.2. If nothing else, the file manager improvements are
truly worthwhile! I think reading a list as this one makes things
look much worse than it actually is!
