I found Google to be much more helpful than a book, actually. Do searches for things like "basic HTML", "making links in HTML", "calling functions in JavaScript", and so on. Once you get the basics, just search for whatever you are having trouble on. Good luck in learning JS, and it is really easy once you see the patterns and know the basics.
