Hello; By the way when is the patch coming out? We need to know.
Because as people may noticed Joseph's MPower and mine are from
L.A.U.S.D. Please write back.

Subject: [BrailleNote] Problem: KeySoft error dialog with KeySoft
7.2 andother concerns
Dear list members, particularly HumanWare software development
team,
I have managed to get that awful dialog that states, "KeySoft has
performed
an illegal operation." I believe I have some hypothesis for this
and a
number of other problems:
1. The dialog appears when certain files are downloaded. By
default, files
are saved on the KeySoft System Disk. If the file download
exceeds this 32
MB limit (in case of mPower), the awful dialog will appear.
2. Apparently, certain USB devices causes problems: when playing
a media
file from a USB device, it causes the system to hang. It is
noticeable when
the Media Player is used in conjunction with KeyWeb.
3. When using BrailleNote mPower with 7.2, sometimes, memory
management does
not release the amount of memory that is used by an application.
For
example, KeyBook uses about 200 KB of RAM when run. Bnormally,
when you exit
from Book Reader, the memory that is used by Book Reader is
released. Under
some circumstances, it tends to forget to release that valuable
memory.--Source: Support Information Mode, under Memory query
(space with I
or Read+I in Support Information Mode)
4. It seems that although there is enough memory for KeySoft,
sometimes,
when the memory value reaches certain value, KeySoft hangs. For
example, the
mPower has 64 MB of RAM, which 32 MB is the actual program RAM.
When KeySoft
hits certain amount of memory (usually around 16 MB to 20 MB of
memory), it
tends to hang, therefore you have to press Reset button.
I hope these issues are fixed in the patch.
