I've also noticed some sluggishness when trying to read from USB devices
whether or not the AC adapter is plugged in. I do like using my thumb
drive for transferring data, however, even though it might be a little
bit slower than the compact flash card. It's so easy to use with the PC
as well as the BN.

I often use a thumb drive to listen to DAISY files. I don't ever have
any problems with stuttering or stopping and starting even when the
battery is very low.

Diane and list,
You don't have to have the mPower connected to the AC adapter. What
I've observed is that it is wuite slow to read data on a USB storage
device, such hard disk and thumb drive.

Hi, Everyone!

For those of you who uses the USB Thumb Drives and Harddisk Drives, do
they draw a lot of power from the BN being as they do not have a power
supply of their own? Are there particular brands, or models, which draw
more power than others? Should I keep my MPower plugged in when I get it
when using these types of devices?

Just exploring options before I do my transplant. Getting excited about
it even though it's still two months away. <smiling
