I've got a Fantom Titanium 160GB USB 2.0 HD I bought a couple months back, and for curiosity's sake, I connected it with my Braille Note Mpower to determine if it would function with it. You wouldn't believe how surprised I was when, after about a minute, my BN announced, "Hard Disk ready." I checked the File Manager/Directory, and all be dipped in molten uranium-235 that it wasn't listed in the drive's list! I know the manual said the BN Mpower was designed to function with usb media card readers, but I never expected it to function at all with my external hd, though I've noticed that, if I accidently turn off my BN before turning off the hd, the next time I turn on my BN it won't have the hd recognized correctly. I was able to successfully write a Word doc file, save it to compact flash, then copy it from cf to the hd, and when I reconnected the usb drive to my Win Xp machine, I was able to pull it up into MS Office perfectly. The one rub is this hd is formatted fat32 at the moment, and I'd really like to convert it to ntfs, but I'm not sure if it would function properly with my BN after that. Just thought I'd pass this along.
