While chat software available often has text as an option, most
use voice by deault. If we are limited to text only that will
mean that we will not be able to participate in chat rooms that
use voice only. We do need the text option too but it will
definitely limit us if it is text only. If a deaf blind person
is invited to a chat it would for the most part be assumed that
you would need to use tet only. But contacting a hearing person
and inviting them to a chat room that is using voice will keep
the braillenote user out.
While we are all eager to see this implemented as soon as
possible, I think we would rather wait until humanware can offer
a fully functioning chat client. I know many of us would rather
have to wait a little longer to enjoy the stablility of
applications that humanware is known for. that is why many of us
use a braillenote over the less stable pacmate.
Hopefully, HW will consider holding off until they have a full
program instead of just trying to get a feature out.
