I wanted to write and bring some closure to my issue. I have a laptop (my desktop is in storage). There are no serial ports on the laptop. Therefore, until I get my desktop, I won't be able to hook my BN up. I learned that mostly all serial ports are male, like the one on the BN. I don't have any.
