Well in my case I have a mouse connected to the PS2 or round port on the PC, and this round socket or port is smaller than the round socket on the back of my Epson 1650 scanner, which is the same as there was on my previous HP5P. The serial cable that fitted my BLM20 serial port also fit the one in my scanner. I'm saying that the PS2 or mouse port on my PC is probably too small for it. Slightly different shape.

Sharondha, if you want to learn more about BrailleNote's serial port or the terminal for screen reader, go to User Guide and check out Chapter2 of the Manual. -----Original Message----- >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Flor Lynch Sent: Saturday, October 07, 2006 7:14 AM To: Braillenote List Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Braille Display Help That's probably so. But I was referring to the cable or lead that goes into the holes or female serial port. there was probably a change between the braille lite and the braille Lite Millennium models, I having owned both, and as the serial socket on the BLM was more standard, such as those to be found on the backs of many scanners. I would assume that that's the type of serial port Sharonda was referring to as being available on her PC - a round socket where the round end of such a cable would go. Besides, we are only interested in the standard parameters if we're using serial for a braille display. (It was different for other things, of course, such as FDisk, and other arcana.) ----- Original Message ----- From: Joseph Lee To: 'Braillenote List' Sent: Saturday, October 07, 2006 12:45 AM Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Braille Display Help Actyually, the cable that works with the BN (or the connector itself) is different between BNS and BN products because: one, the connector itself on the BNS is a propriatary connector versus standard 9-pin connector on the BN, and second, these two uses different modes of sending and receiving information using RS232 protocol (serial connection). -----Original Message----- >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Flor Lynch Sent: Friday, October 06, 2006 7:25 AM To: Braillenote List Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Braille Display Help I don't know if this is of help; but the Braille Lite line of products had a serial cable that would fit the holes in the serial port [of the BL], and the pins of the PC. If I lived near you, I'd give you the cable to try out. <smile> ----- Original Message ----- From: Sharonda Greenlaw To: Braillenote List Sent: Tuesday, October 03, 2006 3:26 AM Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Braille Display Help No. My PC has the same kind as the cord--holes with no pins.
