Hello,
You can clean your display any way you wish, but the air is in
a spray can which requires very little pressure to operate. I am
not a Braille display cleaning expert, I only made a suggestion
on another way displays are cleaned. If you don't want to, or
can't operate the button on a spray can then don't. And, if your
fingers have less strength than it takes to operate the Braille
or Querty keys on your device, then by all means use your
flannels.

How would one with muscular problems like myself be able to use
canned
air? If I can't use it, is it safe to wipe the display with a
flannel
soaked in warm water and of course the water wringed out??
Thanks.

The canned air can has a little straw which directs the
stream
of air where you want it to go. My sighted friend and the
husband of a blind friend have told us that they can see dust
blowing away from the machine and into the air.
I've used canned air since I got my first BrailleNote in
2003,
and it's never caused me any problems. Also, because the can is
located right here on my desk, I don't have to stop writing to
blow out the dust. I don't even have to leave my chair or the
room to reach the can.

So, what? Do you just blow the air from side to side? I'm
confused. Do you do it differently from the rag in some cases?

hello Kathleen and Jose,
You can buy canned air in Wal-marts or a computer store to
clean your display with. I find that easier to use than a damp
cloth. Also, I don't have to touch the keyboard and display
while I'm blowing air around to clean them.

Brandon, whether or not you have an mPower yet makes no
difference. If you have a BrailleNote, the manual is the same
regarding some areas. My point would be, please give advice that
you know.

oh thanks for clearing that up.
I didn't know that, then again, I haven't got my mpower yet.

Brendon,
Actually, at Chapter 2 under Braille "Display Care, there exists
a
paragraph
on cleaning the display. It is recommended that you do this
once a week.

hello, in order to have your display cleaned, you'll have to
send it back
to
humanware to have it cleaned.
The manual says not to try and clean the braille display your
self.

my
display needs cleaning. My MPower is new not a transplant.
This goes

Hello everyone, this is KC Spear.
As some of you know, when using my BN M-Power, I rely entirely on
braille. I know some of you use both braille and speech.
Logically, you don't use your braille display for reading and
editing
as much as I do.
My point is that, with the BN Classic, I only had to ask for
1-cell
replacemnt. That was done in 2005, when I sent the BN in
for a "Transplant." I'm going to need to send the M-Power
back, because several cells are missing dots. Has anyone else
experienced a problem with the M-Power cells? (I admit to being
surprised, because I understood these cells are supposedly better
than
the ones in the Classic.) KC
